Hello! I am Tyronda Carr, Founder of It Ain't Over, LLC (IAO Firearms Training) I am a United States Navy Veteran. I realized the necessity of possessing keen self defense & situational awareness skills, however, I knew learning to avoid becoming a victim wasn't enough.
As a woman I believed it was important to broaden my firearms training skills. I obtained my concealed carry permit and continued my firearms training by taking courses from local military trained firearms instructors, NRA Instructors, as well as USCCA Training Counselors. Since then I've trained many through the IAO Firearms Academy.
I've been blessed to open the IAO Firearms Training doors, the opportunity has helped individuals achieve confidence that they would be able to safely exercise their 2nd Amendment Rights. I'm committed to providing excellent education, training and resources so that each student will thrive safely in today’s world.

TRAINING COURSES
WOMEN BASIC HANDGUN & SELF DEFENSE (MD HQL)
This course is designed for women who want to purchase a handgun, but have little to no handgun instruction. Also for women who want to learn how to defend themselves in any situation. Upon successful completion of the Basic Handgun course students are certified to apply for the State of Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL), which is required to purchase a firearm in the state of Maryland.
MARYLAND HQL
This course is designed for who individuals want to purchase a handgun, but have little to no handgun instruction. Upon successful completion of the Basic Handgun course students are certified to apply for the State of Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL), which is required to purchase a firearm in the state of Maryland.
MARYLAND WEAR AND CARRY
Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. The course is a complete guide to understanding conflict avoidance and situational awareness; home security and home defense; handgun, shotgun and AR-15 basics; shooting fundamentals; the physiology of violent encounters; the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath); and a complete guide on gear, gadgets, and ongoing training.
DEVELOPING A PERSONAL & HOME PROTECTION PLAN (Virtual - via Zoom)
At its most basic level, a personal and home-protection plan is designed to help keep you physically, legally, financially and morally safe. Your ultimate goal should be to avoid violent encounters in the first place by developing an acute awareness of your surroundings and by making intelligent decisions about your actions, behaviors and precautions.
RANGE SESSION
During Range Session, participants will be guided through effective shooting fundamentals. We will focus on universal safety rules, trigger & muzzle discipline, stance & proper grip, trigger control, sight alignment, and breath control. This session is designed to provide opportunities for new shooters to get more familiarity before purchasing, and additional practice for more experienced shooters under the guidance of an instructor.
